Midori Yama Budokai

(Borrowed from Sensei Lunsford's site)

Midori Yama Budokai is a non-profit certification organization founded in 1964 by Leo D. Wilson. MYB is unusual in that its members hold black belts in numerous martial arts such as judo, jujitsu, aikido, hapkido, tae kwon do, kempo, karate, eagle claw kung fu and others. Instructors are awarded charters that allow them to teach under MYB auspices; however, MYB does not run the schools but only sets guidelines for obtaining rank certification. MYB requires no annual fees but only charges a minimum fee for promotions.

MYB sponsors annual clinics that are usually held in Alabama, Georgia, Kansas or Missouri. These weekend-long clinics are full of informative seminars and demonstrations and provide learning activities for all ages and ranks. Some schools also occasionally sponsor other short clinics during the year. MYB provides a large network of volunteer high ranking black belts who assist schools and instructors in student instruction, promotion testing, and instructor education. This opportunity for on-going education is one of the reasons someone like Sensei Lunsford holds black belts in so many different martial arts.

MYB provides certification agreements with the Korea Tae Kwon Do Association, Korea Yudo Association and the Korea Hapkido Federation.
